Their combined expertise on scientific data clouds, standardisation, certification, procurement, delivery of federated services, business models, management, governance and funding of national and European research data infrastructures and e-Infrastructures will be fundamental to drive the establishment of the EOSC by ensuring a successful collaboration with the ongoing Horizon 2020 projects and national initiative.
The group will work in close collaboration  with the Commission expert group on Turning FAIR data into reality and the Open Science Policy Platform, as well as with traditional advisory groups.

This Expert Group will build up on the results achieved by the previous High Level Expert Group European Open Science Cloud, chaired by Professor Barend Mons, which developed a strategic vision for the EOSC, run consultation of stakeholders and produced the report 'Realising the European Open Science Cloud'.

The new HLE Group will hold its first official meeting on 29 June 2017 in Brussels and it is expected to produce a final report at the end of 2018 with recommendations on measures for implementation of the EOSC.

The full list of members and information on meetings of the new group are available in the Commission transparency register.
