Cloud computing has become a subject of increasing interest over the last few years. This half-day event explores the implications of cloud computing for business now and in the longer term, looking at the reality and recent developments. There will also be an opportunity to hear from businesses that are already using cloud services and gaining benefits, to quiz an expert panel and to network with other business people.
Presenters will set out their view of Cloud technology and services. Participants will then be invited to join the debate to help formulate a view of the future landscape of services by means of the panel Q&A and plenary discussion. The event is also an opportunity to air concerns about Cloud computing and discuss how these matters can be mitigated as well as how companies can benefit from economies of scale and new service concepts that Cloud can provide.
The agenda features a talk by VENUS-C partner Prof Paul Watson, Director of North East Regional e-Science Centre, Newcastle University with insights into Research Platform for the Cloud.
