Supporting artistic & cultural Heritage

Jacqueline Nesti Joseph, born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, has been described as "one of the most interesting and original painters of our century". Her homeland has been an important source of inspiration for her fascinating paintings of market scenes, Haiti carnivals and exotic flowers. At a very young age, Jacqueline moved to Paris, where she spent several years under the artistic guidance of Claude Perset, Georges Braque and Manfredo Borsi. It was here that she frequented the poet Jacques Prévert and artists such as Picasso, Chagall and Magnelli. She later travelled to Mexico, where Diego Rivera became her master and friend. Returning to Europe, she later settled in Pisa, Italy, where she still resides.
