Soill event

Trust-IT, as Communication Partner of the SOILL Project, is organising in collaboration with CREA, Re-Soil Foundation the hybrid engagement event “Mission Soil Living Labs and Soil Literacy: Empowering communities for Healthy Soils”.

Taking place on 11 June in Turin and online, the event, jointly organised under the SOILL-Startup and ECHO projects, is designed to spark discussion, encourage collaboration, and actively support stakeholder engagement around the 2025 Mission Soil call, particularly for those looking to establish Soil Health Living Labs across Europe. This thematic event is part of a broader European outreach campaign led by the SOILL Project, with Trust-IT at the forefront of communication and stakeholder engagement efforts.

Soil literacy is the central theme of the event. It empowers citizens, educators, landowners, businesses, and public authorities to understand and act on the importance of soil health. Enhancing soil literacy helps ensure more informed engagement in Soil Health Living Labs, fosters public support, and strengthens the societal impact of the Mission Soil initiative.

With soil degradation posing serious threats to food security, biodiversity, and climate resilience, the need for innovation is urgent. Living Labs offer a proven model for bringing farmers, researchers, local governments, and communities together to co-develop place-based solutions. But meaningful collaboration starts with a shared understanding, something soil literacy can provide. This event will explore how these two elements—knowledge and co-creation—can work hand in hand to deliver tangible, lasting impact.

The programme will feature expert insights, practical methodologies, and real-world examples of how soil literacy can be promoted and embedded within Living Lab contexts. It will provide a space for dialogue among land managers, scientists, educators, policymakers, and creatives, encouraging interdisciplinary engagement and preparing the ground for strong, collaborative proposals.

Attendees will also receive key updates on the new Mission Soil topics, recently launched under the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2025, which will fund the development of 20 new Soil Health Living Labs across the continent.

Trust-IT is proud to lead the organisation and communication of this initiative, helping to ensure it reaches the right audiences and creates lasting value for Europe's soil and sustainability communities.
