On January 14th 2025, the SNS CO-Op Coordination and Support Action (CSA) project kicked off in Pisa, hosted by consortium partner Trust-IT Services. The SNS Co-Op project supports and coordinates the European Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) programme, ensuring integration across current and future phases of its activities. With the SNS Initiative growing to include around 80 R&I projects, SNS Co-Op provides programme coordination, activity management, and community engagement to advance 6G development.
The project builds on earlier CSA initiatives, facilitating stakeholder collaboration, engagement with industry sectors, and standardisation efforts. It also promotes the outcomes of the SNS JU programme through international platforms such as the EuCNC & 6G Summit and the Techritory Forum. SNS Co-Op also aims to enhance Europe’s leadership and competitiveness in the global transition to 6G technology, measuring the SNS Programme strategic KPIs and KVIs, observing and analysing global telco trends, engaging relevant vertical sectors, supporting standardisation activities, and mapping European 6G national initiatives. Through these efforts, the project seeks to create a cohesive framework that drives innovation, fosters collaboration, and addresses critical challenges in developing and adopting next-generation networks.
Our role
Over the last years, Trust-IT has been involved in three flagship CSA initiatives linked to the final stages of 5G development and 6G transition (6GStart) as well as new 6G development horizons (SNS ICE and SNS OPS) aiming to build a collaborative environment for the 6G Smart Networks and Services (SNS) Joint Undertaking, the next public-private partnership spurring the development of 6G. Its role involves analysing the technological KPIs and societal KVIs of SNS projects, monitoring standardisation trends among the SNS JU R&I community through the Standards Tracker, and engaging relevant vertical sectors through a Vertical Engagement Tracker online platform collecting use cases and translating them into requirements for SNS research activities and standardisation inputs. For SNS CO-Op, Trust-IT is maintaining most of the tasks linked to vertical engagement and standards (and the continuous update of the tools), adding the leadership of WP4 on Communication and Dissemination supporting the SNS JU Office directly in the public events they organise/participate in and other forms of graphical/multimedia support.
